Approach

My approach to counselling is eclectic, client-centred, and solutions-focused. I often use cognitive behavioural therapy, but I always try to tailor my approach to a client’s needs. Counselling sessions will most often be led by the client in terms of what he or she wants to work on. My primary goal is to be able to directly help the client deal with their problems or concerns.

If my client is interested, I can bring my certified therapy dog to work. He is a lovely Lab cross, who I have trained from a puppy. He is very sweet and provides a calming presence. I have worked with him as a reading assistant for the school district.
